Em 1922, o local foi loteado, restando apenas a sede.\u00a0<\/p><p>No in\u00edcio da d\u00e9cada de 1940, surgiram as primeiras inten\u00e7\u00f5es de desapropriar o lugar. Este processo foi finalizado em 1948, quando a posse passou para a Prefeitura de Santo Andr\u00e9. O local transformou-se na Pra\u00e7a IV Centen\u00e1rio, inaugurada em 8 de abril de 1953 nas comemora\u00e7\u00f5es dos 400 anos da Vila de Santo Andr\u00e9 da Borda do Campo.<\/p><p>Na d\u00e9cada de 1960 foi retomada a ideia de construir o Centro C\u00edvico da cidade. A pra\u00e7a foi escolhida para tanto. O projeto selecionado foi o de Rino Levi, e o paisagismo, de Roberto Burle Marx. As obras tiveram in\u00edcio em 1966 e o complexo foi inaugurado, em partes, at\u00e9 1971.<\/p><p><strong>C\u00e2mara Municipal de Santo Andr\u00e9\u00a0<\/strong><\/p><p>A C\u00e2mara Municipal de Santo Andr\u00e9 foi instalada em 29 de setembro de 1892, quando tomaram posse os primeiros vereadores. Devido a liga\u00e7\u00f5es com as demais cidades, a C\u00e2mara de Santo Andr\u00e9 funcionou em S\u00e3o Bernardo do Campo at\u00e9 10 de outubro de 1937. A partir de 1948 foi instalada \u00e0 Rua Coronel Alfredo Fl\u00e1quer, 76, onde seus trabalhos foram realizados at\u00e9 24 de mar\u00e7o de 1954. Depois mudou-se para a Rua Coronel Oliveira Lima, 252, permanecendo neste local at\u00e9 27 de outubro de 1968.
